• Requirements and privileges
To obtain a private pilot license, some things are required to
begin, whether a medical exam of category 1 or 3 from Transport
Canada. The private pilot license allows becoming a
wheeled single-engine plane pilot, with day VFR flight
with passengers aboard. Here are the characteristics of our
private pilot license:
• Practical section
Around 50 hours of flight (legal minimum: 45 hours), 30 hours in
double-command and 20 solo hours (according to the abilities of
the student).
Cost: 30 hours of double-command at 190 $ / hour: Total 5700
$
20 hours in solo at 140 $ / hour: Total 2800 $
Also count around 5 hours of ground preparatory lessons.
Cost: 5 hours at 50 $ / hour: Total 250 $
• Theory section
Individual theory lessons of 40 hours, schedule according to the
choices of the student.
Cost: 40 hours of individual lessons at 40 $ / hour: Total
1600 $
Or theory classes in group of 60 hours (two sessions of 8 ½
weeks per year, minimum of 6 participants per session).
Cost: 600 $

P.S. The theory lessons in group are
given from October to November and April to May with 2 classes
of 3 ½ hours per week from 6:30pm to 10:00pm. A student that
misses a class will have to take it back individually at a rate
of 40$ / hour. Administration fee of 50$ in case of abandon of
theory lessons.
The costs are approximate and based over the competences of an
average pilot. They can be less or more according to the
candidate. The enumerated fees can change without notice. The
taxes are not included.
• Exams and tests
The candidate to a private pilot license must obtain, during his
formation, an aeronautic radio operator license, a student-pilot
license (pre-requirement to solo flights), and pass the written
exams and flight tests of Transport Canada at the end of his
formation (fees not included). It’s now required to obtain a
French or English linguistic competence.
• Requirements and tests
To obtain a professional pilot license, a requirement is
necessary to begin, whether a class 1 medical exam from
Transport Canada. The privileges obtain: Professional pilot
(able to be remunerated) of a wheeled single-engine plane with
day and night VFR flights, and VFR OTT, with passengers aboard.
• Practical section
Total of 200 hours of flight (legal minimum: 200 hours), 35
hours of double-commands and 30 hours in solo after getting the
private pilot license.
Cost: 35 hours in double-commands at 210 $ / hour: Total 7350
$
115 hours in solo at 140 $ / hour: Total 16100 $
N.B. As well as for getting the private pilot license.
Also count around 5 hours of ground preparatory lessons.
Cost: 5 hours at 50 $ / hour: Total 250 $
• Theory section
Individual theory lessons of 80 hours, schedule according to the
choices of the student.
Cost: 40 hours of individual lessons at 40 $ / hour: Total
1600 $
If the lesson is given individually, the student must pay the
total amount.

written and practical tests of Transport Canada at the end of
his formation (fees not included).

To obtain the night flight annotation, the
private
pilot license is necessary. The privileges obtain: Pilot of
a wheeled single-engine plane with night VFR flights, with
passengers aboard.
• Practical section
Total of 15 hours of flight, 5 hours in double-commands to the
instruments (plus the 5 hours acquired in the private), 5 hours
in double-commands at night, 5 hours in solo at night.
Cost: 10 hours in double-commands at 210 $ / hour: Total 2100
$
5 hours in solo at 140 $ / hour: Total 700 $
P.S. For the instrument flight hours, add 0.3 hours for each
flight.
Also count around 1.5 hours of ground preparatory lessons
Cost: 1.5 hours at 50 $ / hour: Total 75 $

For the competence verification, a
private pilot or
commercial license is necessary. The obtain privileges:
pilot of a wheeled single-engine plane with VFR flights, with
passengers aboard.
• Practical section
As needed according to the experience of the pilot.
Cost: Needed amount of hours at 210 $ / hour
Also count some hours of theory
lessons or ground lessons, as needed, according to the
experience of the pilot.
Preparatory cost: Needed amount of hours at 50 $ / hour
Theory cost: Needed amount of hours at 40 $ / hour
P.S. The taxes and license fees are not included.
• Exams and tests
A pilot haven’t acted as a PIC during the last 60 months must
pass the P-Star exam from Transport Canada (given in the same
school).
